Sesame Tofu

Ingredients

Main

  • 1 block high-protein tofu, cubed
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 head broccoli, steamed
  • 1 cup brown rice, cooked according to package instructions

Secret Sauce

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame oil
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • ½ tsp chili garlic sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp ground ginger

Garnish

  • Scallions
  • Sesame seeds

Instructions

Serves: 2
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 10 minutes

  1. In a medium bowl, toss the tofu cubes with the cornstarch until evenly coated.
  2. Heat a pan over medium heat. Add the sesame oil, then the tofu. Pan-fry, turning occasionally, until all sides are golden brown.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together all of the secret sauce ingredients.
  4. Once the tofu is browned, reduce the heat to low and pour the sauce into the pan. Stir continuously until the tofu is evenly coated and the sauce has thickened, about 5 minutes.
  5. Serve the tofu with the steamed broccoli and brown rice. Garnish with scallions and sesame seeds.
